Support

Keep your fleet in the air.

Spare parts, service, repairs, warranty and training for Scout 137 Gen 2 and Gen 3, through your distributor or direct from ScoutDI.

Service

Keep flying: we'll keep it certified.

Preventive maintenance, repair and sensor calibration for Scout 137, handled through your distributor, or sent to ScoutDI, with documentation your QA team can file.

What service covers.

Preventive maintenance

Scheduled inspection of frame, motors and electronics. Wear items replaced before they fail. Maintenance log updated in Scout Viewer.

Repair and calibration

Drone and payload repair to factory specification. Sensor calibration with certificates suitable for class-survey and regulated workflows.

Software updates

Scout Operator, payload firmware and Scout Portal updated in line with the current release. Compatibility checks against your hardware revision.

Where service happens.

Start with your distributor: they handle service and repairs locally, on the same process. On a direct agreement with ScoutDI, the case runs through the RMA form and we send you the return address in Norway with your RMA number. Either way you get a case number first, and shipping instructions before anything moves.

Repairs & warranty (RMA)

Something broke? One form starts the case.

Repairs, warranty claims and service returns all run on the same RMA process: submit the form, get a case number immediately, and receive shipping instructions before anything moves. The case is tracked end to end and the unit returns with documentation of the work performed.

Bought through a distributor? Your distributor is your first line for warranty and repairs — they handle the case locally on the same process. Find your distributor. Direct customers, or unsure? Use the form and we route it.

What to do after an incident or hard contact.

  • Do not fly it again. Hidden damage to the frame or motors can cause failure mid-flight. Ground the unit until it has been inspected.
  • Inspect the frame visually. Look for cracks in the carbon-fibre structure, deformed mounts and any debris lodged in the propeller area.
  • Photograph the damage. Clear photos of the frame, payload and any impact point speed up triage and quote.
  • Start the case. Through your distributor, or directly via the RMA form with the serial number, the photos and a short note on what happened.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

How do I claim warranty or send a unit for repair?

Through the RMA process: if you bought via a ScoutDI distributor, contact them first — they handle the case locally. Direct customers submit the repair & warranty form, receive a case number immediately, and get shipping instructions before sending anything.

What is the Scout 137?

A tethered drone system for inspecting confined industrial spaces such as tanks, vessels, chimneys and shafts. The tether carries power and data, so there are no batteries inside the asset and no RF link.

How long can the Scout 137 fly?

As long as the inspection takes. It is tether-powered with no flight battery, so endurance is effectively unlimited.

Does the Scout 137 use radio?

No. The control system is fully wired through the tether: nothing to intercept, jam or spoof, and no transmitters inside the asset.

How does the drone navigate without GPS?

A 128-beam LiDAR with SLAM positioning builds a live 3D map of the asset, so the drone holds position in GPS-denied spaces and total darkness.

Is the Scout 137 ATEX certified?

No. Its safety case rests on verifiable facts instead: zero RF components, the tether grounds static electricity, a third-party propane-chamber test ran over an hour with no ignition, and the system is EMC-tested by Nemko to FCC Part 15.

What payloads are available?

The 4K Zoom Camera (on every flight), the UTM Payload for ultrasonic thickness measurement, 3D LiDAR mapping, and a flammable-gas sensor (standard on Gen 3).

What thickness range can the UTM Payload measure?

1–150 mm (material-dependent), with up to 100 readings per flight. Surface preparation, couplant deployment and measurement happen in one docking.

What size openings can the drone pass through?

A 600 mm circular manway.

What data do I get, and in which formats?

4K video and photos, location-tagged UT readings and a survey-grade point cloud, reviewed in Scout Portal in the browser. Point-cloud exports: LAZ (high density) and PCD, LAZ, PLY, E57.

Is Scout Portal ISO 27001 certified?

Scout Portal runs on the security posture of an ISO/IEC 27001-certified cloud/hosting provider; ScoutDI AS holds ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 27001 at the organisation level.

Is the Scout 137 Gen 2 still supported?

Yes. Fleets worldwide still fly Gen 2, and ScoutDI commits to spare parts, calibration services and software updates.
